Helene Fehlig Tatum grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and spent a significant part of her childhood in Mexico City. She earned her law degree in Spanish from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1997.
Her calling to immigration law took shape during her studies, when she participated in an immigration clinic and completed a specialized human rights program in Guatemala.
