Erika Jurado-Graham was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in Monterrey, Mexico by a Mexican single mother. Following the 1994 Economic Crisis in Mexico, her mother and close relatives immigrated to the United States in search of better economic opportunities. Erika was attending law school at the time her family moved to the U.S. and she stayed behind to complete her studies.
Later, Erika Jurado-Graham attended Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, where she obtained a Juris-Doctorate Degree. While in Law School, Erika was the president of the Hispanic American Law Student Association, and two-term secretary of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy. Following her graduation, she established her own practice at the heart of the Immigrant Community in Kansas City, Kansas. Erika is licensed in Kansas, Missouri and the country of Mexico. Immigration law is federal law, immigration attorneys are permitted to practice immigration in most states; however, certain jurisdictions impose severe restrictions on multijurisdictional practice.
