Why choose our firm?

¡At our firm, you talk to licensed attorneys, not with legal assistants!

¡If you schedule an appointment with an attorney, you speak to an attorney! Have you ever heard stories about people who struggle to speak directly with a lawyer or who only meet with assistants during their appointments? Or have you heard of people who are pressured by salespeople to sign a contract before they get the chance to actually talk to a lawyer? We're not that type of firm. At our firm, we believe in providing you with professional support directly from licensed attorneys in the United States, with extensive experience in immigration law. There are just two attorneys at our firm, and we’ll be the ones handling your appointments and managing your case. We take pride in being a boutique immigration firm, committed to delivering personalized, high-quality service.

What to expect?

The consultation is probably the most important part of your case. This is when we explain whether you have a viable case and if so, what strategy we will use for success!

What not to expect?

During the consultation, the attorney will definitively not explain how to conduct the case without the assistance of an attorney, or how to prepare or improve your paperwork for filing.

Frequently Asked Questions

The appointments may be in person, by phone or by Webex Video. Phone and Video appointments will be scheduled according our availability. The in-person appointments will be at our Kansas City office.  If your appointment is a phone appointment, you must call our office 5 minutes before the appointment time. If your appointment is a video appointment you will receive instructions to join by text message.

The applicant or potential immigrant must be present during the consultation, either in person or by phone. If the applicant or potential immigrant is not in the United States the consultation may not happen in person and a phone appointment will have to be scheduled. We prefer that the petitioner is also present when the case is a family immigration petition.

No other individuals, such as children will be permitted to attend an in-person consultation. Please do not discuss matters not related to your case as they will not be answered and will only take up time from your consultation.

If you must bring children to the office, you must also bring a babysitter to stay with the children while you go into the attorney’s office. If there is no one to watch your children the appointment will be cancelled.

Telephone, Video or in-person appointments, are also expected to begin as scheduled. For telephone appointments you must call the office 10 minutes before the scheduled consultation and it is your responsibility to initiate the call. If the consultation will be conducted via Video, you must join 5 minutes before the scheduled time.

Existing or potential clients calling or arriving more than 10 minutes late, REGARDLESS OF THE REASON, are considered to have missed their appointment and will be asked to reschedule. If the consultation begins late due to the client’s responsibility, the consultation will end at the scheduled ending time regardless of not having the entire 30 minutes consultation time. We have appointments scheduled every 30 minutes and we will respect everyone’s appointments.

No refunds will be given once the consultation begins. We cannot guarantee that the attorney will take your case and the consultation fee will not be reimbursed.

Cancellations: If you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment you must call us 24-hours prior to your appointment. If we don’t receive notice within 24-hours, our office will charge a fee equal to the amount of the consultation fee for the amount of time that they attorney has set aside to review your case. If you can’t reach our office by phone please to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please email us at info@abogadaerikajurado.com.

For most cases we do not have to do legal research to render a legal opinion. However, in some cases we may need to update our knowledge of the existing law to give you the best legal advice. If we cannot give you a legal opinion on the same day of your consultation, we will have an answer for you within one week of your scheduled appointment.

The cost for all virtual consultations is $250 USD. In-Person Consultations are $300. All consultations are payable at the time of the scheduling of the appointment.

iMPORTANT: Our firm handles all cases seriously and in a professional manner. Clients have the responsibility to provide their information to us in the most accurate and truthful manner prior to their appointments. At any moment we discover that our clients are omitting and/or hiding information from us, their appointments will be cancelled.
